To say that Manny Pacquiao is on a roll would be an understatement to rolls. Pac-man has been ripping through every big name south of Middleweight with no signs of slowing down. He first gained notoriety by dismantling former champ Jorge Julio, then with a series of wars vs. Marquez, Barrera and Eric Morales. He's a puncher whose power has seemed to stay with him as he ascends weightclasses. Much like a young Tito Trinidad. He's an awesome fighter at the top of his game.
I don't know if the same can be said for Miguel Cotto. A suddenly weary Cotto was the class of the division just two years ago after handling Shane Mosely and whipping Zab Judah. Then he took a brutal loss to Antonio Margarito who was apparently loading his gloves. Honestly I don't know if Cotto's head has been back in boxing since. Some guys are never the same after taking a bad beating. It happens.
The higher Pac-man moves up in weight the bigger his competition gets. DeLaHoya was physically much bigger than Pac-man but unfortunately was just there too take a paycheck as it was quickly evident he wanted no part of Pacquiao. Cotto is a younger version of what DeLaHoya represented. He's bigger and stronger than Manny. he should be able to impose his will and dictate the fight. DeLaHoya was too old, but Cotto could pull it off.
I don't see it happening. Manny is going to set a blistering pace and I have to question whether Cotto wants to take a beating. I say a Unanimous Dec for pac-man. No knock out, but I don't think Manny will be tested. If he gets in trouble at all it could be in the later rounds when Cotto's size becomes a factor. I say Cotto checks out long before that and Manny cruises to an easy win
